Lucy is 1! | Rainbow Cake Smash Session

I ended 2017 photographing Lucy, started 2018 photographing Lucy, and here we are, the end of 2018, and I’m photographing Lucy! A sweetheart I’ll never tire of photographing! I love Lucy’s (see what I did there? haha) first birthday cake smash session so much- the bright colors, the way it honors the baby who passed before her, and for the lessons it taught me. I learned if a set decoration is not fixed to the set, it becomes a chew toy. Yes, while those fun color dots on the floor are sooo cute, it’s likely a one-year-old will be way more interested in eating those than the cake! And now it’s a game! First, grabbing them with slick, icing covered hands is the challenge, and then, licking all the icing off, the reward! Endless rounds of fun! When her mom and I thought we removed all the dots, sure enough, she’d uncover another! It’s safe to say that a good time (and a few bites of yummy cake) were enjoyed all around!
